Ms. Jacobson is one of the founding partners and Vice President of QRIntl. She brings with her a strong understanding of the importance of quality and safety in a hospital setting. Ms. Jacobson has over 30 years experience as a surgical nurse at one of the nation’s preeminent academic medical centers, Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. David Jaimovich is the President and founder of Quality Resources International (QRntl). As the former Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for International Accreditation Services for Joint Commission Resources (JCR) and Joint Commission International (JCI), Dr. Jaimovich realized the need to develop quality and performance improvement programs and patient safety initiatives as they relate to accreditation and improving the safety of patients in the hospital setting. He has overseen the development of these programs worldwide, and has worked closely with governments and healthcare agencies on five continents. He brings his expertise to QRIntl in order to collaborate directly with healthcare organizations and related stakeholders. Under his leadership, QRIntl is developing programs with a social agenda, providing technical assistance and consulting, as well as comprehensive educational programs with a goal of improving patient safety and quality of care worldwide. His particular interest is in physician engagement in patient safety and quality in the hospital environment. A sought-after speaker, he frequently presents at national and international meetings on such topics as performance improvement, accreditation operations, standards development and disaster preparedness. In addition, he has published numerous books and articles, and written chapters on pediatrics, transport medicine, healthcare quality and standards. Dr. Jaimovich is a board-certified pediatric specialist. He serves as co-chair of the Bioterrorism Pediatric Task Force for the Illinois Department of Emergency Medical Services, is an associate professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Illinois, and an Honorary Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where he received the 1999 Gold Medal for Clinical Excellence in the Medical Field. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2004 Ron W. Lee, M.D. Excellence in Pediatric Care Award from the State of Illinois, the Top Doctors of Chicago Award for years 2001 through 2004 and Top Doctors in America in 2005. After receiving his medical degree from University Autonoma de Guadalajara Medical School, Dr. Jaimovich completed his pediatric critical care fellowships at Rush Medical College Division of Critical Care and Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.

She is extremely knowledgeable in all operative specialties as well as caring for patients in the outpatient setting. She is responsible for developing strategic opportunities for QRI in both the public and private sectors. Ms. Jacobson earned a bachelors degree in nursing from Indiana University, and did post-graduate studies in operating room nursing at Lincoln University in San Francisco, California. She is a member of The Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses. (AORN)

Sigal Shapira is the Vice President of Quality Resources International, her responsibilities include project development and management, client relations and supervision of operations. Prior to the establishment of QRIntl, she was the Project Director and the Special Assistant for the Chief Medical Officer at Joint Commission International where she was responsible for the development and coordination of special projects. Ms. Shapira was previously affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine -- Division of Substance Abuse. She began her tenure there as director of a grant project to identify and provide services to HIV infected children. Later, as Director of Children and Family Services she was responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising services including prevention and crisis intervention for children, women, and families of patients in treatment for substance abuse. She increased the service provision capability of the department through grant writing and linkage development to provide comprehensive family support services and facilitate improved treatment outcomes. Ms. Shapira first gained international experience when professionals abroad were interested in replicating an outreach developmental evaluation and services program she was instrumental in establishing. She went on to direct the international adoption department at Spence Chapin in New York, which included coordinating humanitarian aid programs in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central America, and Asia. Ms. Shapira has published and presented extensively on the subject of providing services to underserved populations. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tulane University and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University.
